Red Hands Community Food Drive for 9/11 Day

Red Hands Family Foundation will host the Red Hands Community Food Drive for 9/11 Day, a volunteer-driven hunger relief initiative designed to honor the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance through meaningful community action.

The project will mobilize volunteers, community organizations, faith-based groups, schools, businesses, and local residents to drop off nonperishable food donations during a food collection block party in observance of 9/11.

Distributions will occur through Red Hands Family Foundation’s established community outreach network and other feeding partners, ensuring resources reach families with the greatest need.

As part of the project, Red Hands Family Foundation will collaborate with Hunger Fight, where volunteers will participate in a large-scale meal-packing event occurring during the same period of observance. Together, these efforts will expand the overall impact of the 9/11 Day initiative while maintaining distinct service activities and outcomes.

The project will give community members a meaningful opportunity to turn remembrance into action by honoring those lost on September 11 through service to others. By addressing food insecurity and strengthening community connections, participants will carry forward the spirit of unity, compassion, and resilience that emerged after 9/11.
