    Food for Their Bellies, Books for Their Brains

    The Tallahassee / Big Bend Community Outreach Event is your chance to make a direct, measurable impact on children right here in our community. Every table sponsored, every team assembled, and every dollar donated helps Hunger Fight provide essential weekend meals and early-learning books to local children who need support the most.

    Across our region, childhood hunger and low early-literacy rates continue to rise. Too many students depend on school meals as their only reliable source of nutrition, and thousands of preschoolers lack access to the books and tools that set the foundation for lifelong learning.

    Hunger Fight is committed to changing that. Through our Feed the Backpacks program, we provide nutritious weekend meals to over 16,000 children. Our Feed the Need to Read initiative delivers 4,200+ age-appropriate books to preschoolers across North and Central Florida—helping young learners build confidence, vocabulary, and a love for reading.

    When your business, church, club, or organization sponsors a table, you’re doing far more than funding a program. You’re stepping in to help children in our own neighborhoods who are facing hunger and falling behind academically.

Hunger Fight is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating hunger and illiteracy in our communities. Since our founding, we have passionately worked to ensure that children, families, and seniors facing food insecurity have access to nutritious meals. Through innovative meal-packing events and community partnerships, we provide meals that nourish both body and spirit.

In addition to combating hunger, we aim to bridge the literacy gap by delivering age-appropriate books to children in need, fostering a love for reading and learning. Our dual mission of fighting hunger and promoting literacy empowers individuals and strengthens families, creating a brighter future for all.
